Donate Wish List Items

Our shelter is a place of safety, comfort, and new beginnings. Wish list donations help us provide everyday essentials for the women, children, and families in our care.

These gifts help create a more welcoming, home-like environment and allow us to respond to urgent needs as they arise.

Important Note:Due to capacity, health, and safety, My Friend’s House can only accept items listed on our Wish List.

Clothing donations should be directed to Common Thread, where 100% of proceeds are directed back to My Friend’s House.

We cannot accept furniture or household items. For these donations, please consider supporting The Fresh Start Project, Georgian Bay Furniture Bank, or E3 ReUse Centre.

Gift cards help us bridge the gap when urgent needs arise, especially as food and supply costs continue to increase.

    • Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, or Home Depot

    • Bus passes

    • Long-distance calling cards

    • Cineplex

    • YMCA passes

Items we currently accept include:

  • Cereal, pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, pasta, pasta sauce, taco kits, broth, condiments, baking supplies, spices, coffee, and other pantry items.

  • Granola bars, fruit bars, juice boxes, crackers, apple sauces, yogurt, cheese strings, cookies, puddings, raisins, Bear Paws, veggie straws, pretzels, Goldfish crackers, animal crackers, Teddy Grahams, and Nutrigrain bars.

  • Fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen fruit and vegetables, dairy products, eggs, cheese, yogurt, fresh or frozen meat, frozen pizza, frozen lasagna, frozen juices, and sealed deli meat.

  • Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, baby wipes, adult diapers, and other personal care essentials.
