National Day of Remembrance

December 6th is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada.

It marks the anniversary of the murder of 14 young women students at the l'Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal in 1989. They were victims of gender-based violence and murdered because they were women.

Shocking the nation, The Parliament of Canada moved forward in 1991 to create a day of remembrance and action.

Please take the time to remember these victims and work together to consider creating actions to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls.
