Red Shoe Walk 2021

After great consideration, My Friendís House has decided to reschedule our 10th annual Red Shoe Walk to September. Registered participants will leave their pages up but we will see them don their Red Heels in September! We chose September as it is My Friendís House 30th Anniversary (and there is a sincere hope that lockdowns will be far less likely). 👠

Join My Friendís House virtual Red Shoe Walk 2021 to end gender-based violence and discrimination.

September 1-30, 2021 - South Georgian Bay Ė My Friendís House annual awareness-raising event, Walk A Mile in Her Shoes, is now known as the virtual Red Shoe Walk. Step out with a pair of red heels that symbolize your commitment to end violence against women, girls, and people of all genders, and walk with hundreds of others across Ontario.

Participants can walk anytime during the month of September and share their experience on social media using #RedShoeWalk, thus showing their support in ending gender-based violence.

Participants can register online here Red Shoe Walk 2021 - Canada Helps and will be invited to celebrate virtually on October 8 to acknowledge all the teams, participants, and sponsors. Bring on your friends, colleagues, and family members and walk your neighborhoods or workspaces and add your voice to this important You will be able to show your allyship online through social media tagging @MyFriendsHouseCollingwood and using the hashtag #RedShoeWalk.

Wearing the colour purple signifies, ďTogether we can end violence against womenĒ. Join My Friend's House and wear a specially designed purple COURAGE Mask in support of abused women and their children.

These masks, when worn by the community, will show women and their children that they are not alone. The COURAGE of a woman alone is not enough.

A great way to give to My Friendís House is through holding a Third Party Event.

A third-party event is a fundraising initiative hosted by an individual or group to benefit My Friendís House. These events can take many forms (even during a pandemic) and raise important funds, friends and awareness of our work to end violence against women.
