They say it takes a village to raise a child and it takes an entire community to raise awareness.
You can help by inviting a Speaker to your group.
Representatives from My Friend's House, who are skilled speakers, welcome the opportunity to speak to your group about violence against women and their children and the services offered by My Friend's House.
Raising awareness helps:
Women and children learn what resources are available to them and how to access them;
Provide the community with information about the issue of domestic violence and its effects on our neighbourhoods
Work toward changing social attitudes around violence and abuse by working toward ending it together;
Break the silence that is often associated with abuse - helping women who are in abusive situations know that they are not alone.
