The mission of My Friend's House is to
reduce the occurrence of domestic violence by changing societal values
and norms that perpetuate or support the abuse of women and by contributing
to the safety of women and their children in the Georgian Triangle
through:
- The provision of a safe, physical and emotional environment
through short-term housing
- The delivery of counselling, advocacy, and crisis intervention
services
- Community education and awareness-raising initiatives
My Friend's House is committed to a respectful, non-judgmental and
gender-sensitive approach to delivery of all services.
Our volunteer Board of Directors, made up of people from diverse backgrounds,
provide the support and expertise needed to help deliver our Mission.
